Judge Amber Givens

The Higher Level of Honor.

Amber Givens never encountered a challenge she did not take head on...from the creative solutions she found to fund her undergraduate and graduate careers to the hurdles she has soared over in her legal career.
In 2013, she was deemed an unlikely candidate to run for office as a State District Judge because she was not a Dallas native, deemed to be too young, and she had the audacity to celebrate her African descent by rocking her natural hair.  Amber forged ahead nonetheless and in November 2014, she was elected the second-youngest State District Judge in Dallas County, Texas.  She is currently serving her second term in office.
Amber takes her obligation to serve seriously.  As a result, she is active in the Dallas community and serves on numerous boards including the Texas Appleseed Board, Dallas County Juvenile Board, and the Advisory Board of the Dallas Women Lawyers Association amongst others.
Amber is driven to create a necessary change in the world around her.  She is driven to motivate and inspire people to turn their roadblocks into hurdles and use their challenges to intensify their desire.
